    The Festival 2016 | Copper & Kings Distillery

    The Shelton Brothers bring you The Festival 2016! The world’s greatest and smallest artisanal beer, cider and mead makers join to meet festival attendees and share their stories and knowledge. You’d have to spend months and countless dollars for a chance to meet this many world-class brewers. But now, you’re saved the trouble and the expense — they’ll all be on hand personally to talk about their work and to pour for you. And many will be creating special brews specifically for the event — you won’t be able to find them anywhere else!

    When: October 28, 5-9 p.m. & October 29, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

    Halloween Spooktacular | Bardstown Main Street

    Come out for the downtown Bardstown Halloween Spooktacular! It’ll be an afternoon and evening filled with fun events for the whole family, including Trick-or-Treating with your favorite storeowners from 3-5 p.m. Whether you’re ghoulish, glam or wear a mask, dress up and come downtown! There will be fun games for kids at the Farmers Market Pavilion from 5-7 p.m. There will also be a Family Movie Night, featuring Ghostbusters!

    Fall Garden Harvest Buffet & Cooking Demo | Issac's Cafe

    Come out to Bernheim for a delightful and delicious evening at Isaac’s Café. Experience appetizers on the café patio, a tour of the Edible Garden and a cooking demonstration using fresh ingredients. Enjoy the freshly prepared meal complete with live music and great conversation. Registration and payment are due by 4 p.m. on Thursday and space is limited, so make your reservation today!

    Black Cat Chase 5K | Downtown Frankfort

    The Black Cat Chase 5K Fun Run/Walk is one of the region’s most popular and entertaining races. It’s filled with fun and excitement from both the race participants and spectators, with Halloween-themed festivities, such as costumes, Halloween music and more. This is a great event for the entire family. Those participating will get to enjoy the beauty of historic Downtown Frankfort on their 5K experience!

    Stranger Things Art Show | Studio Post Office

    Come out for a gathering of local and national artists as they display their works inspired by the Netflix original show Stranger Things. To be held on the Friday before Halloween at the gallery in Studio Post Office.

    Dream Theater Presents "The Astonishing" Live | Louisville Palace

    The technically-proficient guitar playing of John Petrucci elevated Dream Theater to the upper echelons of contemporary heavy metal. While their lineup has continuously evolved, the Long Island-based quintet has consistently delivered sharp-edged music, making them known for their high-energy concert performances.

    Nightmare in NuLu

    The NuLu neighborhood presents the first ever Nightmare in NuLu! This is your chance to enjoy the neighborhood with friends and family while also getting in the spirit of the Halloween season! Bring the kids and family down from noon-5 p.m. for store to store trick-or-treating, plus pumpkin painting and games in The Green Building Lot. Costumes are encouraged for both kids and adults. After the sun goes down, visit the NuLu restaurants and bars for drink specials from Wild Turkey and a costume contest using #NightmareInNulu. Each participating restaurant and bar will be themed based on your favorite Halloween movies.

    Color Vibe 5K | Big Four Lawn

    The Color Vibe is coming to Louisville and wants you to experience the most #VIBErant 5K of all time! Grab your friends and family and experience lots of fun, epic beats and TONS OF COLOR while you run/walk our course. You’ll come as a blank canvas and leave a colorful mural! A portion of the proceeds will also go towards a local charity. Sign up now before spots fill up!

    18th Century Market Fair | Historic Locust Grove

    You are invited to join with Locust Grove and the Illinois Regiment of Virginia as they bring the spirit of the past alive with the Market Fair. You can participate in 18th century style entertainment, purchase replicas of 18th century military and household items and enjoy food and drink as our founders did. There will be battles for our country’s independence, featuring General George Rogers Clark’s own company, the Illinois Regiment of Virginia, as well as British Dragoons and Marines.

    Fried Chicken Throwdown | ReSurfaced

    Sharpen your taste buds and get ready to taste the best Fried Chicken in Town! The Fried Chicken Throwdown is a culinary competition to benefit Slow Food Bluegrass. A cash prize will be available to the winner in each of three categories: Best Fried Chicken, Best Vegetarian Side and Best Dessert. They'll be judged by people's choice. The currency of The Bluegrass Fried Chicken Throwdown will be tickets, and $1 will equal 1 ticket. Tastes will cost 2-3 tickets.

    Fright Light Halloween Party | University of Louisville

    Spook-tacular family fun will be had by all at the planetarium's annual Fright Light Party. There will be Halloween games and treats for kids along with the much-loved Fright Light Laser Music Show for the whole family (showtimes: 1, 2, and 3 p.m.).

    Dogtoberfest | Bluegrass Brewing Company

    Experience this dog-friendly fall celebration! This event will include Hi-Five Doughnuts, local pet vendors, a dog costume contest and live music. A portion of sales will go to Saving Sunny, Inc., a non-profit organization in Louisville that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes pit bull terrier-like dogs.

    The Filson Historical Society's Grand Opening Celebration

    The Filson Historical Society is ready to bring its past together with its future as they prepare to unveil the transformative $12 million Campus Expansion Project in Old Louisville. The project, which includes the renovation of the Ferguson Mansion on Third Street and the completion of the brand new Owsley Brown II History Center on Fourth Street, is connected by an enclosed pedway that passes through the mansion’s carriage house. The Open House will include music, docent-led tours and interpretations, special exhibits, children’s activities and information about continuing programs.

    Norton Commons Fall Festival

    Norton Commons will host its annual Fall Festival this Saturday! Trick-or-treating, face painting and plenty of family fun will abound. Trick-or-treating will be from 2-4 p.m. only, so come early and don’t forget your costume!

    Halloween Parade | Downtown Corydon

    The 2016 Halloween Parade will be the biggest, best and most memorable one yet as Corydon celebrates Indiana’s Bicentennial. A tradition since 1934, this is one of the oldest Halloween parades in the country. Get in the spirit of Halloween and come dressed in your favorite costume and stroll through the Square in downtown Corydon.

    Brewer's Brunch | Against the Grain Brewery

    The Shelton Brothers’ Festival will have come to an end, but Against the Grain has got one last bang. They’re inviting you to the brewer’s brunch! While you’re stuffing your face full of Maque Chous, you might just catch a glimpse of Jeppe from Evil Twin or one of the Floyds. This brunch will feature Arizona Wilderness and a collaboration brew with Italian brewery Toccalmatto on draft!

    Making Strides Against Breast Cancer | Waterfront Park 

    The fight to end breast cancer starts with a single step. Join millions of people in more than 300 communities nationwide and take that step at the American Cancer Society Making Strides of Louisville walk. Just a few hours of your time at this non-competitive 5K event will help bring a lifetime of change for people facing breast cancer and their families. Registration is at 11 a.m., and the walk begins at 1 p.m.

    Carmichael's Presents Nick Offerman | Clifton Center

    Carmichael's Bookstore and The Berry Center are excited to host an event with Nick Offerman for a reading and signing of his new book Good Clean Fun: Misadventures in Sawdust at Offerman Woodshop. Each $40 ticket includes a copy of Good Clean Fun ($35) and a $5 donation to The Berry Center, a nonprofit organization with the mission of putting Wendell Berry's writings to work by advocating for farmers, land conservation, and healthy regional economies. Even if you're not into woodworking, you'll enjoy this ode to craftsmanship heavily laced with Nick's unique brand of humor and tomfoolery.

    Trick-or-Treat at the Track | Churchill Downs

    Churchill Downs and its community partners present a safe environment for families to dress up & enjoy Halloween fun under the Twin Spires. Distributing nearly 50,000 treats provided by Mars Inc., this is a family-friendly event at which children 11 and under are encouraged to dress in costume and visit over 15 community-hosted booths located throughout the first floor of the racetrack to receive candy. The Kentucky Derby Museum will also be providing free admission to children in costume until 5 p.m.

    Halloween Dark Market | Haymarket Whisky Bar

    Described as "a curated night time oddities and art market," make sure to wear your costume as Haymarket Whisky Bar welcomes another Dark Market just in time for Halloween! This year, Dark Market DJs will be Thom Hammerheart and Tess Payton. Visit the website below for a list of vendors.

    Halloween Party & Horror Movie Double Feature | OPEN Gallery

    Come out to Open Gallery this Sunday for a horror movie double feature and Halloween party! They’ll be showing Suspiria (1970), directed by Dario Argento, and The Devil’s Backbone (2001), directed by Guillermo Del Toro. There will be a costume contest, as well as plenty of beer and wine.
