The Flea Off Market returns for the dog days of summer at Fresh Start Growers Supply. LFPL Kids' Program: Water is Fun!
In addition to regular summertime offerings, the Louisville Free Public Library is teaming up with the Louisville Water Company in June and July to provide a series of engaging educational programs for kids: Water, Water Everywhere (based on the book Living Things Need Water) and Water Is Fun! Both programs offer hands-on learning experiences taught by Louisville Water Company educators.

Louisville Orchestra’s Waterfront Fourth of July Celebration
Louisville's Fourth of July Celebration on the Waterfront has returned this year with a great concert by the Louisville Orchestra featuring Teddy Abrams conducting with Ben Sollee and Jecorey "1200" Arthur. Activities start at 5 p.m. with live music on the Waterfront stage, the Catfish Louie Kids Area;, festival foods, the Leinenkugal Summer Shandy Beer Garden and the Old Forester Red, White & Blue Bourbon Bar. At 8:30 p.m., the Louisville Orchestra concert begins, capped off by Louisville City FC Fireworks at 10 p.m.

Midnights at the Baxter Presents "Stripes"

Independence Day Weekend at O'Bannon Woods State Park
Come join the fun at the Hickory Hollow Nature Center. The aroma of food cooking over an open fire fills the air, as does the ringing of the blacksmith's hammer striking the anvil. There will be demonstrations on lye soap making, spinning, cooking, woodworking, tomahawk throwing, music and Native American life. At 1 p.m. see how hay bales were made in the mid-1800s using oxen and a haypress, a fascinating look at pioneer life.

"Southern Uncovered with the Lee Bros" Viewing Party at Seviche
"Southern Uncovered," Ovation Network's newest food show, has come to Louisville, and the episode airs Sunday, July 5 at 8 p.m. In this Anthony Bourdain-esque show, James Beard Award-winning food and travel writers Matt and Ted Lee uncover the unexpected bites and sights in cities all over the south. While in Louisville, Matt & Ted visited Bourbon Barrel Foods, Seviche, Mayan Café, Sunergos Coffee and Decca. The folks from all of these local spots will gather to watch the airing of the show at Seviche.
