This week's happenings in the Louisville comedy scene:

Earthquake rocks Louisville, Richter scale of laughter hits 7.2...

Already immensely popular with urban audiences, mainstream audiences are now getting their chance to catch this red-hot comedian. Earthquake's charm and good nature are apparent as he delivers his straight-ahead humor. Yet he pulls no punches, touching on a variety of topics in his comedy act.

Before embarking on his fast-rising comedy career, Earthquake spent eleven years in the Air Force where he was enlisted as a sergeant. While stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Ft. Walton Beach Florida, he found his funny while performing stand-up onstage at the military's well known talent show "Tops & Blues." Recognizing he may have found his comedic niche, Earthquake took his comedy outside the military as well and began performing in comedy clubs & rooms in the southern U.S.

Now Earthquake is a household name as part of Def Comedy Jam circuit, appearances on BET's "Comic View", Comedy Central's "Premium Blend", VH-1's "The List" as well as a guest appearance on "Mad TV."

Watch this video of Earthquake to get a glimpse of his stand-up act and catch him at The Improv (at 4th Street Live) this week from Thursday 9/1 through Sunday 9/4. Tickets are $20. [more information]

So, a clown walks into an elevator...

In their recent video, the Laugh Society ponders the worst situation to be in right before a job interview. This new sketch group, comprised of several local Louisville comedians is starting to showcase their wit online with funny videos (although their

"clown fetish" does seem to be a bit weird), so definitely subscribe to their YouTube channel for more.
