Lunch for my co-workers and I can be a tough decision. (Definition of this use of “decision”: There are very few places to go near our workplace that do not have a drive thru window) We end up going to the same few places over and over, but
luckily one of those places is what I consider to be one of the best restaurants in town – Vietnam Kitchen!

Many readers are likely familiar with Vietnam Kitchen (5339 Mitscher Avenue) and those of you who are not should get there immediately. The menu is huge and can be a bit intimidating on your first visit, but don’t be afraid. Just dive right in and try something new! There are lots of choices for both vegetarians and meat eaters and the friendly, polite staff is happy to help. One tip: when you go, order by number. This eliminates that embarrassing attempt on your part to pronounce the Vietnamese dishes. Each dish has a letter/number combination next to it and if you order using these, staff knows exactly what you want! For example, my old favorite is VM5 – stir fried green beans with mock duck.
