Vietnam Kitchen has closed its doors temporarily. According to their website, Vietnam Kitchen is closed until November 21, 2013.  When called, Vietnam Kitchen’s answering machine reports the same. No reason thus far has been given for the sudden closure.

Vietnam Kitchen, located in a strip mall at 5399 Mitscher Avenue, is known for their large and authentic menu of Vietnamese specialties, including many vegetarian options. My favorite is the Mì căn xào đậu,($8.70) the mock duck with stir fried green beans.

Vietnam Kitchen also serves a killer avocado milkshake, a red bean and rice pudding, and Gỏi cuốn, ($3.00) rice paper rolls filled with lettuce, bean sprouts, shrimp, pork and vermicelli noodles, served with peanut sauce.

Let’s hope the closure is indeed temporary.
