Recently, on 11.11.11 to be exact, I had the opportunity to witness a friend of mine create one of the most phenomenal art performances I’ve ever seen. Hailing from Owensboro Kentucky, Aaron Kizer, of Kizer Arts, who's proficient at speed painting and street art, created the above tribute painting of Steve Jobs in just minutes. For those familiar with Bob Ross, you may see similar parallels as you watch the video for the first time; wondering - "What the heck is he doing, he's messing it all up." Not until about three minutes in do you begin to witness his tribute take shape.
Most would assume that Kizer practiced for months for such an event, but just a week before the show he was soliciting suggestions on his Facebook Page for whom he should paint and why… needless to say, Steve Jobs was a popular suggestion. He didn’t reveal until the end, as you see it all come together, that Steve Jobs was indeed the person he chose to honor in art.
I especially dig the opening Steve Jobs speech excerpt, the music selection (Lights by Ellie Goulding), and the closing (which wasn’t captured) that included concluding comments by Siri. Enough of the talk, let’s get to the video. Watch, listen, and enjoy.
