The Fat Friday Trolley Hop gets underway with another entertaining round of featured stops along Louisville's Historic Frankfort Avenue. It's expected to be a hot one, with heat indices hanging out around 100F.

This Trolley Hop is named the "Makers Mark Hop", albeit the schedule of events on the Fat Friday Trolley Hop website doesn't mention any certain special Maker's Mark event or tastings of the distinguished bourbon.

The featured stops along Frankfort Avenue and at the Mellwood Arts Center feature different arts related goodies.

Starting at 6 p.m., The Mellwood Arts Center will host Joey Samuels in the courtyard as he demonstrates that he is indeed a one man band. Also at the arts center is the exhibition, "It's All In The Peripherals". This exhibit is located in Gallery M and features seven artists' work of varying mediums who work in New York City. The exhibit aims to show the diversity in New York's art scene."It's all in the peripherals" incorporates painting, drawing, video and sculpture. The "Color This Color That" exhibit is a collection of paintings and photography produced by students of the Mind’s Eye Art Club and the Creative Technology class at Maryhurst. Another exhibit taking place at the MAC is the "Generation Exhibit" located in the Pigment Gallery. According to artist Debra Lott, "The Generation Exhibit" features paintings focusing on the human condition, portraying women of all generations, ethnicities and socioeconomic levels.
Beginning with the July 29th trolley hop, the MAC is also featuring a juried pendant show featuring pendants made and assembled by international glass bead makers. The show will be at the MAC through September 15.

Moving over to Frankfort Avenue, five additional events can be taken in.

The summer sale at Elizabeth's Timeless Attire, is a once a year sale where vintage clothing and accessories are drastically marked down.

Tara Young Photography (2720 Frankfort Avenue) and The Crescent Hill Trading Company are hosting a fundraiser for Blessings in a Backpack. Chef Finbar Kinsella will be serving up cool summer Gazpacho and Sangria.

    Pottery Rowe
(2048 Frankfort Avenue) will be giving trolley hoppers the opportunity to try their hands at the potter's wheel. Unfortunately, Demi Moore and the late Patrick Swayze are unable to demonstrate the kind of human connection possible through this artistic medium. However, trolley hoppers are able to give it a try for ten bucks.

    The Pink Lounge
Launch Party will be launching from The Dressing Room (2836 Frankfort Avenue). The party benefits Susan G. Komen and the Pink Tie Ball. Organizers are promising a refreshing signature cocktail for the event to be served all night, and there is almost no better way to manage the heat than with a cold adult beverage in your hand.

The Third Lutheran Church will be having a Christmas in July event featuring nativity scenes produced by Just Creations. Additionally, the Christmas in July event will also have Christmas cookies, Christmas caroling and other entertainment.
