The United States Pony Club International Games Exchange Team had traveled to Australia on April 5 to participate in an International Mounted Games exchange program and competition.

On April 21st in Bungendore, New South Wales, Australia, the United States team won the games competition. It is the first time an American team has won outside of the United States.

The team also traveled throughout Australia for two weeks climbing the Sydney Bridge, playing with Kangaroos and Wallabies at a nature reserve, mustering 6000 head of sheep and shearing them, also visiting Australia’s version of the Grand Canyon.

20 teenagers from Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and the U.S. had a trip of a lifetime. Mary Peabody Camp, a Pony Club member from Covered Bridge Pony Club in Louisville, KY, was one of the U.S. International Exchange Team members.

For more information about mounted games and the U.S. Team's trip you can refer to a previous article done on Louisville.com here.
