    Bit to Do

Buck Creek Valley Animal Rescue hosting a yard sale and auction fundraising even
    Print this page

On February 23 and 24 Buck Creek Valley Rescue will be hosting a yard sale and large auction at their facility and need items donated and the public to show up and bid on those donated items. The yard sale will start on February 23rd at 9 am. Both the auction and the yard sale will be conducted on February 24th starting at noon.

It costs the rescue $250,000 dollars a year to care for its current equine residents and now they have to worry about purchasing the land they operate on so as not to have to worry about losing it due to it going into foreclosure on March 1. Of course monetary donations of any size are also greatly needed at this time and can be donated via the facility’s website here. Donations of hay and other supplies are also always needed. To see a list of what all is needed go to their website link listed above. These contributions are tax deductible as the facility is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

This facility is the biggest equine rescue facility in the area, currently housing 34 neglected, abused, and unwanted horses. The Rescue will no longer be able operate as a safety net for needy horses if it loses the property it operates on.

Want to help by donating an item to their fundraiser? You contact them at the following numbers: 812-972-3300, 502-296-9888, or 502-418-5430

Equine rescue is very near and dear to my heart as a horse owner and one who has prevented a number of horses from going to slaughter. We simply do not have enough of these facilities around so to lose even one is devastating. I hope many people will show up in support of them.

The yard sale/fundraiser will take place at the rescue’s property located at 4700 Shewmaker Lane SE, Elizabeth , Indiana 47117.
