This weekend you have two Americana shows lined-up at Headliners, Friday will be the Earthtone Analog Showcase, and Saturday night Whitey Morgan & The 78’s will be on stage at Headliners.
Friday night we have The Earthtone Analog Showcase, which will be a searing night of talent featuring The Secret Kind, Front Porch Prophets, The Dirty Church Revival, Earl Guthrie, Boxwine Prophets, Owen Reynolds, Kendra Villiger, Soapbox & Kelly Scott Franklin, and more. Everyone will be playing short sets that highlighting their finest material and shows each artist’s talent for the live performance. And of course when you have this many talented, likeminded people in one room, they all just might end up on one stage at one time. A jam session just might break out at any given moment.
Earthtone Analog Showcase will be Friday August 21st at 7:00 PM. Tickets are still available $10-$15.
On Saturday night, Whitey Morgan & The 78’s will bring their modern brand of outlaw country to Headliners, as well. Morgan is certainly not a stranger to Louisville stages, having played here several times on the way to where he’s going.
Cutting his teeth in Flynt, Michigan – Morgan is a disciple of classic country artists like Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Merle Haggard – he writes lyrics about hard times, hard women, and hard drinking. It’s the down on your luck, sad bastard, beautiful tragedy has been closing down the honky-tonks for decades. He will be performing songs from all three of his albums, the recently released “Sonic Ranch, his self-titled “Whitey Morgan and The 78’s,” and his 2008 debut album “Honky Tonks and Cheap Motels.”
If you wanna catch some classic outlaw music this weekend head over to Headliners on Saturday. Tickets are $15 and the show starts at 8:00 PM. Tony Martinez and Jericho Woods will be opening the show.
