    Tuesday (8/18) -

    Bobby Long

English singer-songwriter Bobby Long will be making his way to Louisville to share his talent with us. His latest album, Ode to Thinking, is pretty self-explanatory in terms of topic and shows his impressive skill as a songwriter. That being said, his live shows have been known to take his already remarkable work and transform it into something entirely new and equally striking.

    Wednesday (8/19) -

    Songs of Water

Songs of Water are a North Carolina indie-orchestral band that have approval from the legendary Ricky Skaggs. Their June 9th release, Stars and Dust, has the detail that comes with time (it was three years in the making) and will be the central focus of their New Vintage show.

    Meagan Hickman

Meagan Hickman will be stopping by Haymarket for the first stop of the southern leg of her Sightlines Summer Tour. This Chicago native is highlighting her new album, showing her growth as a woman and musician. She’ll be playing the front room of Haymarket, FO FREE, making this an ideal Hump Day stop.

    Thursday (8/20) -

Rye Back Porch Sessions with the Hot Wires, Graffiti, and New Bravado

This month’s Rye Back Porch Session will have some high energy Louisville rockers doing their thing.

Langhorne Slim & The Law with Clear Plastic Masks

Langhorne Slim let it slip that he would be returning to our neck of the woods during his set at the Boomtown Ball in New Albany earlier this year. This time, he’s coming with a full band and a new album to share with us. We expect the same kind of authentic set that is synonymous with the artist, but he’ll definitely be working hard to show us what he and The Law have been working so hard on recently.

    Friday (8/21) -

Aged and Glazed with Hi Five Doughnuts

So this isn’t exactly a music event, but this is certainly a local event that we don’t want to miss. If you have somehow missed checking out the ladies of Hi Five and their majestic donuts, then this is a great chance to see them on display.

    Horseshoes & Hand Grenades

The Bicentennial Park Summer Concert Series in New Albany continues rolling with another Friday evening show. On this week’s lineup is Wisconsin band, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. The new-age string band brings their version of bluegrass to Kentuckiana at the beginning of a pretty impressive summer/fall tour.

    Saturday (8/22) -

    Seven Sense Festival

A free good ol’ fashioned block party? The second annual Seven Sense Festival, supporting the Boys and Girls Haven, will include multiple stages, plenty of brews, scrumptious grub and the unbeatable vibe that goes with a street festival. Some of the acts we’re excited about seeing are Fly Golden Eagle, Gill Landry (of OCMS fame), Scott Carney Band and Turbo Fruits, not to mention some of local favorites.

    Butchertown Get Down

The weekly PLAY event is getting bigger and better every time. Join JP Source and the Do502 crew for one of the city’s best dance parties.
