The hip hop community in Louisville is as talented as it has ever been and two reasons for that are MC Touch AC and producer Dr. Dundiff. Sure, they have performed together what is probably now a countless number of times and have now officially released music together, but their connection is more than musical. They are as close as brothers.

It's that connection that makes their new EP Page of Cups (out Friday) so good.

Like the rest of the hip hop movement in Louisville, this EP is real. It's genuine. They have a good time with it, but these songs are not written to be bangers. Touch AC says these are the most personal lyrics he's written. Pages of Cups is a tarot card that represents leaving the past behind and moving forward and that's the main crux of Page of Cups's best song "This Life Ali." I admit after listening to this EP multiple times that some of Touch's lyrics are over my head but there are some lines we are can all hold onto like like the final minute of "A Valley of A Thousand Doubts" when he powerfully repeats "I am loving you more while I'm losing you more." You can feel the passion inside of him with every repetition.

Touch's lyrics are made to be with Dundiff's beats. They are mesmerizing. You'll find yourself inside these rhythms. There is something mechanized yet very natural with the tone of Dr. Dundiff beats. If you still don't know who Dr. Dundiff is, take a closer look at the Forecastle lineup. Dr. Dundiff & Friends are playing on the Saturday of the festival.

Touch AC and Dr. Dundiff will be playing Page of Cups and other songs Friday at the EP release show at Highlands Tap Room. With good weather, they will be playing outside beside Bardstown Road. The show starts at 11 with sets by Kogan Dumb and Sheisty Khrist & LoFidel. Touch AC and Dr. Dundiff will then headline with a live band that includes members of Smoke Shops Kids and Dr. Dundiff & Friends. There will also be live graffiti happening behind the band. If that's not enough, the show is FREE. Need more? Check out the Facebook event.
