I have a confession: although I was here last year, my Thunder "attendance" was pitiful. But this year will be different, for I will be on the Jeffersonville riverfront, partying it up proper!

    How proper?

My crew and I will be guests at the Market Street Inn for Saturday evening's festivities. This lovely inn has a "large third floor deck with outside fountain and fireplace." That fireplace will be nice given Saturday's forecast is a low of 46 degrees. Care to join us? As of yesterday they still had one room available (the Bridal Suite).

And Schimpff's Confectionery is right down the street from the Inn! I said I'd be back. Back for the Peeps. Mmmmmm.

I remember being confounded last year by the way the entire greater metropolitan area just SHUT DOWN around noon on Saturday, thereupon which everyone seemed to simply break out their party hats and start milling about in the streets. From our home my family was able to see the top half of many of the fireworks. It was nice.

But this year, we are really doing Thunder. Oh yes. I have done my research. I've checked the websites. I know which roads will be closed (see p3 for Jeffersonville), I know where the best views on the Indiana side are:

Most of the viewing in Southern Indiana is on private property, so keep that in mind if you don't have a ticket to one of the restaurant or hotel parties. In Jeffersonville, Indiana , the area between the Clark and Kennedy bridges will be very limited. To accommodate the crowds, more viewing areas have been developed between Fort and Pearl Street on Riverside Drive, east of the Kennedy bridge.

Aren't you glad I'll be back later to brag report the joy of Thunder in Jeffersonville? The party's on the Indiana side, folks! Join us - the view is great!
