What better way to kick off the warm spring weather and relaxing evenings than to take a short drive over to Jeffersonville, In. Next Friday, May 8, from 6 - 9p.m., Jeffersonville will be hosting their 6th annual “Chocolate Stroll” in their “HipStoric” Downtown with the support of Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Association, the City of Jeffersonville, Jeffersonville Main Street, and the businesses of downtown Jeffersonville.

Only 500 tickets will be sold for the “Chocolate Stroll!” Tickets for children (12 and under) are $5 and tickets the day of the event are $10 at the registration area (corner of Spring and Chestnut St.). Advance tickets may also be purchased for $8 online or at any of these locations:

Choices Boutique (437 Spring St. Jeffersonville, IN)

Schimpff’s Confectionery (347 Spring St. Jeffersonville, IN)

The Springs Salon & Spa (234 Spring St. Jeffersonville, IN)

Pearl Street Treats (301 Pearl St. Jeffersonville, IN)

Budget Print Center (902 E. 10th St. Jeffersonville, IN)

Upon arrival to Jeffersonville, participants will first stop by the registration area in the Glossbrenner Garden (corner of Spring and Chestnut St.) to pick up a map of the participating locations where they may get their chocolate treats. The entire stroll covers a five-block radius of “Hipstoric” Downtown with plenty of stops and entertainment along the way.

Attendees will be able to enjoy many sweet goodies as they make their way around “Hipstoric” Downtown. There will be samples of chocolates, brownies, candies, and cakes at the local shops and restaurants. Not only will your sweet buds be satisfied, but there will also be five live music acts playing along the sidewalks to satisfy your ears. With this stroll being just two days before Mother’s Day, it could be a fun springtime event for the whole family, and especially, for the mothers.

A new attraction coming to this year’s “Chocolate Stroll” is the incorporation of a Trolley Hop. Everyone, participants as well as the general public, will have the opportunity to ride the trolley, free of admission, and take a 15 minute ride through Downtown Jeffersonville. The trip will consist of five stops, including Spring Street, Big Four Station, and the riverfront. Jay Ellis, Executive Director of Jeffersonville Main Street Inc., stated that they love what Louisville has done with their trolley hops and are hoping to make trolley hops a part of Jeffersonville as well. Ellis emphasized the idea of “old buildings, new attitudes” in the revitalization of Jeffersonville and believes that the trolley hops can help carry out this idea. There will be five trolley hops this year on the second Friday of each month from May through September.
