I realize that I’m supposed to write about people food, but dogs are family and deserve to eat well, too, right? That’s what Steve Wilson and Shelby Simpson at the Three Dog Bakery think! They want to make sure all pooch owners have access to healthier dog food and treat alternatives than what’s generally available on store shelves, so they will host “Free Pupcake Day” this Saturday!
To thank the loyal customers who have relied on their wholesome dog delights for 13 years, they will be giving away one of their most popular products, the trademarked “Pupcake”, on Saturday, August 18th!! Every customer will receive a large canine cupcake for their beloved companion and many of the treats will be donated to the Kentucky Humane Society.
“Pupcakes” are made with human-grade whole wheat flour and topped with an icing containing low fat yogurt and honey. Also, like all products of the Three Dog Bakery, they are made without any of the added sugar, salt, chemicals, artificial colors, or other unhealthy ingredients found in commercial dog food and treats.
The festivities don’t end with the free treats - there are several more reasons to stop in:
+ All weekend, there will be an annual birthday “ClearRunts” sale with discounts up to 50% off throughout the entire store. (Friday, August 17th – Sunday, August 19th)
+ Louisville Pet Pages, a new local pet publication, will be launched and given away at the bakery on Saturday while you’re picking up your “Pupcake”.
+ On Saturday, the Louisville Metro Service’s S.P.O.T. vehicle will be on site to provide adoptable pets, pet licensing, volunteer information, and more!
