    You know that Lilly’s is a great place to find fantastic food. After all, it’s been around since 1988 and Chef/Owner Kathy Cary, who has been recognized far and wide for her skills, never fails to provide satisfying American/Southern cuisine. She’s cool beyond cool, and this Thursday, January 24th, the crew at Lilly’s Bistro is hosting a 5-course Argentina wine dinner at 6:30 PM!

    Each course will be paired with a selected wine from Argentina, and wine expert David DuBou of Vintner Select will be on hand to speak about the wines and how/why they were chosen for each dish. Below is the menu:

    1st Course

    Empanadas

    Stone Cross Farm Pork Empanadas with Avocado, Tomato, and Lemon Salsa

    Wine: 2011 Altivo Torrontes “Vineyard Selection”, Salta

     

    2nd Course

    Ruby Red Truchas

    Parsnip-encrusted Ruby Red Trout with Lemon Risotto and Basil Foam

    Wine: 2009 Altivo Chardonnay-Viognier “Barrel Selection”, Valle de Uco

     

    3rd Course

    Homemade Porcini Pappardelle

    Wild Mushrooms, Red Sauce, Red Wine-Poached Duck Egg, and Black Pepper Goat Cheese

    Wine: 2011 Colonia Las Liebres Bonarda, Mendoza

     

    4th Course

    Asado

    Bone-in Rib-eye with Peppercorn-Rubbed New York Strip Steak, Chimichurri, and Chorizo Gnocchi

    Wine: 2007 Vale la Pena Malbec “Laurel Glen Vineyard”, Mendoza

     

    5th Course

    Cheese Tasting

    Selection of Cheeses with Grilled Bread

    Wine: 2010 Altos las Hormigas Malbec “Vista Flores Single Vineyard”, Valle de Uco

     

     

    This dinner is $85 per person plus tax and gratuity. To make reservations, call (502) 451-0447.

    If you can’t make it to this fabulous sounding dinner, be sure to stop in soon! Did you know that one of their menu items is “Pretzel-Crusted Sea Scallops with Celery Root Risotto, Kale, Crispy Prosciutto, and Lobster Bisque”?
