    Helping Others:
    Wayside is in need of donations of breakfast food for Thanksgiving Day and is also looking for volunteers as they are expecting a 20% increase from last year. Please visit: http://www.waysidechristianmission.org for more information on how to help.
    The Salvation Army is always looking for volunteers and donations, year-round. Call (502) 671-4900 for more information.
    Places to go that do something special:

    Churchill Downs: Have Thanksgiving with Churchill Downs with adult ticket prices starting at $48. Call (502) 636-4400 today for tickets as reservations book fast!
    Seniors Thanksgiving Day Dinner: Presbyterian Community Center, 701 South Hancock Street from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. The dinner is free of charge for persons who are 50 years old and older.     Why not prepare for all of the calories you’ll be consuming by getting rid of some of the ones you’re already carrying around? The 20th annual Fast Freddie Festive 5-Mile Foot Feast will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Floyd County 4-H Fairgrounds on Green Valley Road in New Albany, Ind. Proceeds from entry fees will benefit the Type 1-Diabetes Education Program at Floyd County Memorial Hospital

    Go Shopping: Yes, everyone makes a big deal of the day AFTER Thanksgiving, but why not check out the stores/sales on the day of? Places like Meijer and Wal-Mart are open… but places like Target are NOT.
    Games: Try card games, Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit or many other games to keep everyone entertained and laughing.
