This is not a drill: it’s Filson Bourbon Academy time again! For those of you new to bourbon, this is a one day training and education course that will get you on your way to becoming the bourbon connoisseur you were always meant to be. The Academy is led by Filson Bourbon Historian Mike Veach, a bourbon Hall-of-Famer and all-around cool dude.
Veach is the author of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey: An American Heritage, the definitive work on Kentucky bourbon history. He travels across the United States lecturing, signing books, and leading The Filson Bourbon Academy, spreading bourbon love across the land.
If you are planning to attend, get your tickets soon as they tend to sell out rather quickly. Also plan for someone to pick you up at the end of the day- there will be a lot of bourbon.
According to the Filson’s site:
"The one-day Academy is an eight hour class. Participants learn about the heritage of Bourbon Whiskey and have the opportunity to taste several different styles of Bourbon and other American Whiskeys. A typical Academy schedule includes:

Session 4: Tasting Tennessee Whiskey and Rye
Lunch Break
