The Filson Bourbon Academy’s popularity is skyrocketing.  Even just last year there were only maybe a dozen events throughout the year.  Now there are that many in two months.  They are all over the United States- from Michigan to Oregon, Chicago to Washington D.C.  Here are some of the events happening in Louisville in June:

June 5 from 5:30-7:30 at Oxmoor Farm is Part 1 of Bourbon, History, and Travel.  Featured during this event will be three authors talking about how bourbon has influenced tourism in Kentucky.  Each author will choose a bourbon to share with the group.  Tickets are $50.  Click here for reservations.

June 13 from 6-9 p.m. at Oxmoor Farm is Moon Pies and Moonshine, an “old-fashioned summer picnic in the historic setting of Oxmoor Farm [which] includes a fried chicken dinner, moon pies, live music by Whistlin’ Rufus, educational information about the history of distilling, as well as dancing and yard games.”  Master Distillers from Limestone Branch will be on hand for this event.  Tickets are $35.  Click here for reservations.

June 19 from 6-8 p.m., Filson Bourbon Historian Mike Veach will be at Moonshine University to conduct both a bourbon tasting and a lesson in bourbon history.  Tickets are $39.  Click here for reservations.

June 24 from 6-8 p.m. at Porccini’s, “Enjoy a ‘Chef’s Whim’ three-course meal with bourbon tastings and discussion! This series of events – June 24th, July 15th, August 12th & September 2nd – will match each gourmet meal with specific bourbons selected my Mike Veach, while discussion topics ranging from the history of bourbon to matching foods and bourbons.”  Tickets are $75.  Click here for reservations.

There will also be many Filson events in Lexington, Cincinnati, and other parts of the country during this time.  Be sure to check their website and facebook page for all the details.  IF you attend any of these events, be sure to tweet me @LouGirl502 and tell me all about it!
