The Louisville Free Public Library unveiled the new Southwest Regional Library this October, and in an effort to serve the community, the library will be hosting a “mini” version of the popular How-To Festival at this branch. It will be known as the Southwest How-To Fest, and attendees can learn over thirty different skills in three hours on Saturday, November 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Southwest How-To Fest, which is much like the larger festival held annually at the Main branch, will include a variety of free educational classes and demonstrations for adults and children. The sessions will last from 15 to 45 minutes, and they include “how to do tai chi,” “how to make a broom the old fashioned way,” and “how to buy and sell on Craigslist,” to name a few. An entire schedule of each class and demonstration can be found here. Please note that the activities with a smiley face next to them are kid-friendly. Additionally, guests will also have the chance to learn “how to use a smart table,” which is a part of the advanced technology that is offered at the new Southwest Regional Library.
The Southwest How-To Fest will take place at the Southwest Regional Library, which is located at 9725 Dixie Highway.
