READ BIG! That’s the theme for the annual summer reading program with the Louisville Free Public Library. As they have for multiple years, the Library is gearing up for one of its biggest programs of the year: the children’s and teen’s summer reading programs.
The program officially starts on June 1 and runs through August 9. The summer reading kickoff will be held downtown at the Main Library on May 31 from 10am-12:30pm. It promises to have BIG games, BIG performances, BIG crafts, and of course, dinosaurs! Kids can pick up their summer reading folder a day early by attending the event downtown. The entire event is free and more information can be obtained by calling the children’s department at 502-574-1620.

In addition to everything that the Library offers to children birth-5th grade for summer reading and programming, the Library also runs a teen summer reading program and will be offering a multitude of tween and teen events throughout the summer months. Check into the teen area at www.lfpl.org/teens. Remember, the Library is venturing out via several social media outlets, so keep up with them there to stay as up to date as possible on all the various kid-friendly and parent-loving events at all 18 library locations this summer.
