In Mornings at Seven, the Gibb sisters Aaronetta, Ida, and Esther share much of their lives together in the 1920s midwest. Also in the comedy, Homer, Ida's son, seems unwilling to propose marriage to Myrtle Brown. Myrtle, as a result, is forced to take the situation into her control.
Paul Osborn created Mornings at Seven, and Susan Sommermeyer directed the production. Mornings at Seven has been on Broadway three times, in 1939-1940, 1980-81, and 2002 at the Longacre Theatre and Lyceum Theatres, respectively.
Little Colonel Playhouse will follow up Mornings at Seven with productions of One Acts. Four David Ives-created one acts, Words, Words, Words, The Universal Language, Ancient History, and English Made Simple, will look at language and changing relationships.
Auditions for the show will take place at the Little Colonel Playhouse on Sept. 12 and 13 at 7 p.m., and the performances will take place in November.
