In August of 2007, The United States Congress passed a resolution declaring September National Bourbon Heritage Month.  Nowhere is there more bourbon heritage to celebrate than in Kentucky, and Louisville is densely packed with historical bourbon related sites.  Many Louisville establishments are having special events to celebrate Bourbon Heritage Month.  Here is what I’ve found so far:

-Thursdays from 3-7 Matt Landan is bartending at Haymarket and teaching about different bourbon topics each night

-Throughout September, post a pic of your Angel’s Envy to social media using the hashtag #AE4thetrees and Angel’s Envy will plant a tree

-September 2nd, 8 p.m. at Haymarket celebrate George Garvin Brown’s birthday with the Old Forester Birthday Bourbon Release Celebration

-September 2nd at 7 p.m. at Westport Whiskey and Wine- New bourbons you’ve never tasted

-September 3rd at 1:15 Maker’s Mark After Dark with Mint Julep Tours

-September 4th 5-9 p.m. at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience enjoy a First Friday Trolley Hop open house

-Bluegrass and Bourbon Festival at Water Tower Park September 4-6

-September 5th 12:30 p.m. Bourbon Curious book signing with Fred Minnick at Barnes and Noble The Summit

-September 7th 6 p.m. Bourbon Curious book signing with Fred Minnick at Barnes and Noble Hurstbourne Lane

-Down One Bourbon Bar hosts Master Brand Ambassador Wes Henderson of Angel’s Envy on September 10th for the Storyteller Dinner Series

-Kentucky Small Batch Rye Dinner at Varanese September 10th

-Four Roses is releasing the 2015 Small Batch Limited Edition about halfway through the month

-September 12th is your first chance to check out Old Taylor Distillery

-September 25th at 4 p.m. Heaven and Evan Tour with Mint Julep Tours

-The Second Annual Knob Creek Campout is September 25-27. While it’s not open to the public, you’re probably going to be hearing about it from the luck sweepstakes winners who were chosen!
