    Bit to Do

Father’s Day is one of those holidays that sneaks up on you, sending you into a panic of what to get dear old dad (who is always the hardest person to buy a gift for). Nevertheless, it's a day to show dad that you love and appreciate him. Since finding exactly what to get can be a daunting task, here’s a handy guide to help you out:

If your dad is like mine and enjoys long days in front of the tv watching his favorite sports teams, it only makes sense that he needs some sort of paraphernalia to go along with it. Whether it be t-shirts, hats, socks, or lanyards, there are places around Louisville to find exactly what’s needed. Cardboard Heroes has great options for professional teams while JD Becker is the go-to place for University of Louisville and Kentucky gear. Stop into the Slugger Museum for a customized baseball bat or head to Slugger Field for some Bats swag.

If you want to make the gift of bourbon a bit more personal, you can get custom bottles at many distilleries. Woodford Reserve, Knob CreekJim Beam and Maker’s Mark are just a few that offer these. These are all available to order on their respective websites, but most will allow you to grab one from their gift stores if you don't have time to wait for them to ship.

If your dad is more of a beer person, The Louisville Beer Store on East Market Street has a massive selection of all different sorts of brews.  Mix and match to get your dad and unique selection.

Does your dad play an instrument? Has he always wanted to play an instrument? Doo Wop Shop and Mom’s Music sell a variety of instruments and provide lessons.

Contrary to their reputations, boutiques don't just cater to women. There are several around town that offer a number of products perfect for men. Head to Nulu and stop into Revelry, Gift Horse or Scout for bow ties (made from Maker's Mark labels!), cuff links, wallets, grooming products and so much more.

The Leatherhead is a go-to destination for quality leather items. Get your dad an awesome wallet, belt or briefcase and know that it will last a good long while.
