Noted Louisville sculptor Ed Hamilton—creator of the Abraham Lincoln statue at Waterfront Park and the depiction of York, explorer William Clark’s slave, on the Belvedere—will speak on the steps required to create successful art for such spaces in a free talk tomorrow.
“Life Choices,” Hamilton’s talk, will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 7 in the auditorium of the Speed Art Museum on the University of Louisville Belknap campus. Hamilton also will showcase examples of works designed by the public art class he is leading this semester as the Frederic Lindley Morgan visiting professor of architectural design, as well as student-created concepts for Freedom Park on Belknap Campus. A reception at the Schneider Hall art galleries will follow the presentation.
