Fall festivities will kick off in a big way this weekend when the University of Louisville Belknap Campus hosts a block party this coming Saturday, September 24. The block of Cardinal Boulevard between Third and Fourth streets—directly outside of Cardinal Town—promises to be a hub of activity between 1:00 and 6:00 p.m.
“This is considered a UofL tradition,” says Nick Whitmer, chair of the Student Activities Board Homecoming Committee. “It’s a great time and we hope everyone comes out.”
The event is in its eighth year. Organizers expect about 3,500 people to attend.
The block party will feature a wide variety of activities, including performances by local cover band Louisville Crashers and student band Jack Holiday and the Westerners; inflatables including an obstacle course, climbing wall, jousting arena and miniature golf course; a tricycle race; street booths from local businesses; and free hot dogs.
The block party is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the UofL Block Party Facebook page.
