Sam Smith appeared grateful to be headlining a festival for the first time but also to be singing for the first time in public since vocal cord surgery a few months prior to Forecastle. The fans packed in tight for his set and he didn't disappoint. When the weather abruptly turned severe with high winds toppling lighting rigs they wisely called the show to let everyone seek shelter.
