Convention season is in full swing, and Derby City Comic Con is next on my list. This year, Derby City Comic Con has expanded from a one-day show to a two-day show filled with tons of stuff to do.

Derby City Comic Con will take place on June 28th and 29th at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

The night before the show (June 27th) Derby City Comic Con will host a Steampunk Celebration at Haymarket Whiskey Bar. Another party will take place on Saturday at Haymarket to keep the fun rolling through the weekend. Saturday night's party will feature music by Ford Theatre Reunion and live art by Six Bomb Boards.

Guests and costume contest information have already been announced on the website with panel information soon to follow.

There will also be a kids' program "hosted" by S.H.I.E.L.D. to "recruit" future superheroes. The kids program will feature games, contests, a scavenger hunt, and more! Plus, kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult.

As you can tell, Derby City has plenty to offer adults and kids; it's a great convention for any age!

More information, including ticket options, is available on Derby City Comic Con's website. Check back with Louisville.com for more information as the convention draws near!

Jenna Foster is the volunteer Director of the Kids' Program for Derby City Comic Con.
