    Bit to Do

Submissions for the 4th Annual Derby City Film Festival are now open. Last year's festival showcased over 60 independant films from five countries in over three days to more than 1,000 film lovers.

Films can be submitted by either downloading the submission form from the DCFF website and sending in your film, or through withoutabox.com (WAB).

This is the first year the festival is using withoutabox.com for submissions and they are excited to do so. Submitting your film through WAB streamlines the process, offers the opportunity to submit through a secure online screener, gives your film an IMDB page and provides a $5 discount off the submission fee.  You can submit your film by clicking here.

Submission fees are $15 for short films and $20 for feature films, and there are seven categories:

    Student Short

    International Short

    Documentary Short

    US Short

    Documentary Feature

    International Feature

    US Feature

Category descriptions, submission rules and additional details can be found on the DCFF website or our WAB listing.

Submissions close December 1st, 2011 and selected films will be notified around January 1st, 2012. The festival runs February 17th - 19th, 2012.

The Derby City Film Festival is also now part of The Louisville Film Collaborative.

The Louisville Film Collaborative is a partnership among several of Louisville's largest film festivals and organizations with the goal to promote and grow the film community in the city. While each organization and festival is run separately, LFC allows them to help support each other in an attempt to raise public awareness about all film events, screenings, and other film-related productions and projects in Louisville.

Other members of LFC include: The Louisville Jewish Film Festival, The Wild & Scenic Film Festival presented by the Kentucky Waterways Alliance, The Bellewood Youth Film Festival, The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, The Kentucky Film Lab, The Louisville Film Society, VSM Entertainment, The Fright Night Film Fest & Fandom Fest, The Louisville LGBT Film Festival, and the 48 Hr. Film Project Louisville.
