Revolution and love influence an ex-convict-turned-good in Floyd Central High School's production of Les Miserables, which opens tonight.

Les Miserable, will take place on Nov. 1, 2, 8, and 9 at 7:30 p.m. Matinees will go on Nov. 3 and 10 at 2 p.m. each day. All performances are to happen at Floyd Central High School, located at 6575 Old Vincennes Road in Floyds Knobs, IN.

Tickets for each show are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $6 for students. VIP seating and arrangements are available for only $6 extra. All tickets can be purchased at the door (if still available), by phone at 812-542-2284, or online at the Floyd Central High School website. Keep in mind that the show contains adult language and violence.

Revolution has taken over France in Les Miserables, or The Miserable Ones, a musical based on the renowned Victor Hugo book and, later, turned into a hit Hollywood movie. Jean Valjean has been released from prison after serving a 19-year sentence for stealing bread and earlier attempts to break out of prison. After a bishop touches Valjean with an act of kindness, Valjean's life is transformed. Now, Valjean looks to give that same kindness to others that he comes across in his life.

Meanwhile, revolution breaks out in France during Napoleon's time. Valjean attempts to reconcile the current state of his world with his own path in life. He will also find joy and love within another person.

Robbie Steiner directed Les Miserables for Floyd Central, which is one of the first schools in the nation allowed to produce a complete version of the show. The production will feature guest performers, including Alonzo Richmond as Valjean and Phil Thomas as Javert. Other performers include Madeline Coffey as Cosette, Collin Jackson as Marius, Jade Dailey as Eponine, Allyson Nicole Jones as Fantine, Clay Gulley as Thenardier, Mary Hayes as Madame Thenardier, and Ryan Bickett as Enjolras.

Next, Floyd Central High School will present its Madrigal Dinner. The dinner is to happen in December. More information on the dinner and Les Miserables can be found at the Floyd Central High School website.
