Love, loss, family, and the Christmas spirit all play central parts in the Hayswood Theatre production of Papa's Angels, which opens tonight.

Papa's Angels will take place on Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 7, 8, 14, and 15 at 8 p.m. each night.  Matinees will go on Dec. 2, 9, and 16 at 2 p.m. each day.  All performances are to happen at Hayswood Theatre, located at 115 S Capitol Ave. in Corydon, IN.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 and over, and $12 for students aged 17 and under.  Due to limited seating, reservations are strongly recommended.  All tickets can be purchased by calling the Harrison County Convention and Visitors Bureau at 888-738-2137.  More information on the show can be found at the Hayswood Theatre website.

The Jenkins family in 1930s Appalachia is the focus of Papa's Angels.  It's almost Christmastime, but Grins Jenkins cannot face it, especially after losing his wife to an illness.  The Jenkins children, while also dealing with the loss, will attempt to rejuvenate his spirit and help him and each other find joy in the holiday season.

Alan Weller returns to Hayswood Theatre to direct Papa's Angels.  Weller previously directed Oklahoma and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever for the theatre.

Following Papa's Angels, Hayswood Theatre will present the musical Happy Days.  Auditions for the show will take place Dec. 2 and 3.  More information on the show can be found on Hayswood Theatre's audition page.
