Last week, Louisville’s ReSurfaced project launched in the previously unused lot behind the facades of West Main street, with a big crowd, great music and an appearance from Mayor Fischer. The party will keep going each weekend until the end of October, with planned events Thursdays - Sundays each week.

1:00 p.m. – Discover Your Center Yoga Series (Free Yoga Class led by Jamie Calzi)
5:00 p.m. – Squeeze-bot (Jazz/Funk/Pop)
7:00 p.m. – I.D.E.A.S. 40203 – Smoketown Poetry Opera Preview (Spoken Word/Hip Hop)
8:00 p.m. – Future Shorts Film Festival – join The Kentucky Center and the Louisville Film Society for this international “pop up” film festival, plus a special preview of IF Film (formerly the Flyover Film Festival).
Friday, September 26
KY Center Presents + Mini Maker Faire Pre-Party

1:00 p.m. – Discover Your Center Yoga Series (Free Yoga Class led by Jamie Calzi)
5:30 p.m. – Pop Music Cabaret from Actors Theatre of Louisville, in celebration of their upcoming production of The Last Five Years
7:00 – 11:00: Maker Faire Mixer – free and open to the public. Join us as we welcome the innovators and makers of Louisville’s Mini Maker Faire with live music, DJ’s, and artists who reflect the inventive and original spirit of all things “maker.”

Saturday, September 27
KY Center Presents
3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Creative family activities from The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts – channel your inner artist with hands on activities friendly for all ages and abilities!
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Installation Invitational – cheer on five local artists as they compete to create individual installations on the spot with materials that aren’t revealed to them until the clock starts ticking.
7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. – ReSurfaced Poetry Slam – led by local poet Lance Newman, cheer on some of Louisville’s most innovative spoken word artists as they compete for cash prizes.
9:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – Poetry in Motion Dance party – shake a leg to celebrate the valiant efforts of the Poetry Slam contestants during a DJ set inspired by the musicality of spoken word.
Sunday, September 28
KY Center’s ArtsReach Benefit
1:00 – 5:00: Hands on activities and performances from The Kentucky Center and the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft – join us for hip hop dance masterclasses, chalk drawing, and performances from StageOne Family Theatre and River City Drum Corps.
2:00 – 5:00: Create a hanging garden and add the the community chalk art wall mural with KMAC arts educators Ramona Lindsey, Dana Wissmiller, and Sarah McCartt-Jackson, all ages
2:00 p.m.: Louisville Orchestra Swing Combo with Special Guest, Music Director Teddy Abrams on keyboard
5:00 p.m.: Appalatin (Latin/Bluegrass Fusion)
6:30 p.m. ReSurfaced Hoe-Down! Join us for live bluegrass music and a square dance called by Alex Udis.
