Spring is in the air once again, and it’s bringing some exciting community events along with all of that lovely weather.

April 18 marks the kickoff date for the 2015 iteration of Mayor Fischer’s annual Give A Day week of service, an event that is sure to drum up plenty of smiles around town. Indeed, those smiles will be rolling in early this year on account of the free benefit concert that the Mayor is hosting on April 17.

The show boasts full sets by talented local artists Thirty Spokes, D’Arkestra, and Alex Wright & The Maven Down. There will also be a silent auction for an original painting by Louisville artist, Lisa Simon.

The concert takes place on Friday, April 17 at The Mayor’s Gallery Listening Room, in historic Louisville Metro Hall (527 W. Jefferson St.). Doors open at 7 p.m., music starts at 8 p.m., with cash bar available all night. Admission to the concert is free, but donations are appreciated. All proceeds will go to funding the philanthropic initiatives that will take place during Give A Day week.
