Words, gruesome injuries, and some aliens are to be seen and heard in season number two for Theatre 502 this summer and fall.

During its 2012 season, Theatre 502 will present three shows: Futura (June), Gruesome Playground Injuries (August), and The Aliens (October).  All performances are to happen inside the Victor Jory Theatre at Actors Theatre, located at 316 West Main Street in downtown Louisville.

Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased in advance by e-mail info@theatre502.org.  Theatre 502 also has various membership deals which can be found at the company's website.

The season begins this Friday with Futura, a thriller set in the future where words become actions.  In the future, the author loses all control over words, and a lecture of typography has deadly consequences.

Amy Attaway directed this Jordan Harrison-created production, which runs from June 1-9.  The cast will feature Laurene Scalf as The Professor, Drew Cash as Gash, Betsy Huggins as Grace, and Tad Chitwood as Edward Wexler.

Theatre 502 will head to the playground in August for Gruesome Playground Injuries.  Kayleen and Doug, nearing middle age and unsure of where their lives are going, work through their lives beginning on the playground and throughout the decades.  They find a Romeo and Juliet-esque past with much criss-crossing and pain during that time.

Gil D. Reyes will direct the Rajiv Joseph-created work.  The show runs from August 3-11.

The Aliens taken over the Victor Jory space in October.  In this comedy-drama, three Vermont young men discuss everything from music to Ukowski near a coffee shop.  The play focuses on themes of friendship, art, love, and death.

Mike Brooks will direct the Anne Baker-created production.  The Aliens will run from October 5-13.
