Louisville Ballet is set to return for 2012 and 2013 with classic performances and returning favorities.

During the Louisville Ballet's season, a number of performances will take place:  Lady of the Camellias (Oct.), Studio Connections (Oct.-Nov.), The Brown-Forman Nutcracker (Dec.), Choreographers' Showcase (Jan. 2013), Romeo and Juliet (March 2013), and Breaking Ground (April 2013). Performances, unless otherwise noted, will go on at Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, located at 501 West Main Street in downtown Louisville.

Season tickets are available for purchase and can be done so by calling 502-58-DANCE or ordering online at the Louisville Ballet website.  More ticket information, including prices, can also be found at the website.

Four mainstage shows will take place during the season, beginning in October with Lady of the Camellias.  The 19th Century Parisian courtesan named Marguerite finds herself trying to save the honor of her lover.  That performance takes place October 5 and 6.

The Brown-Forman Nutcracker, a Louisville Ballet staple, follows from December 8-23.  The holiday tradition features a young girl transported to a magical world after receiving a nutcracker for the holidays.

Shakespeare will come to the Louisville Ballet on March 1 and 2 in the form of Romeo and Juliet, a tale of two star-crossed lovers from rival families.

Finally, on April 12 and 13, Breaking Ground will bring about a mixed repertory program from Louisville Ballet.  Five sets of works will showcase the skill and talent of the performers, who in turn will take audiences through a world of dance from Spanish to Russian and others.

Besides the mainstage shows, Louisville Ballet will also have showcases at the Louisville Ballet Studios, located 315 East Main Street in Louisville. Studio Connections will take place Oct. 30- Nov. 3, and Choreographers' Showcase will take place from Jan. 24-26.

More information on any of these shows can be found at the Louisville Ballet website.
