A mix of Broadway classics, new favorites, and other treats for kids and adults are to be found during Hardin County Playhouse's 2012-13 theatre season.

During its season, Hardin County Playhouse will present six shows, including Seussical: The Musical (August), Arsenic and Old Lace (October), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (December), Sordid Lives (February 2013), Twelve Angry Jurors (April 2013), and South Pacific (June 2013).  All performances are to happen at the Plum Alley Theater, located in the historic state theatre complex at 209 West Dixie Ave. in Elizabethtown, KY.

Tickets will be $15 for general admission and $13 for seniors, students, and military members.  Tickets can be purchased online or at the door for each show.  More ticket and show information can be found at the Hardin County Playhouse website.

Hardin County Playhouse opens the 2012-13 season with Seussical: The Musical.  Horton the Elephant finds himself at odds with many in the world while he attempts to protect JoJo, his tiny friend, all the Whos, and an egg abandoned by Mayzie La Bird.  Also, don't forget about the other Dr. Seuss characters that come around.  Seussical: The Musical runs from August 10-19.

In October, a rather insane family takes the stage in Arsenic and Old Lace.  Mortimer Brewster's family contains two aunts who murder old men, a brother who also murders and has had plastic surgery, and another brother who thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt.  Let the hijinks occur from October 5-14.

The very colorful Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will follow in December.  Joseph, a boy with dreams of prophetic proportions, finds his beliefs, spirit, and humanity constantly under fire as he grows up.  With music and lyrics from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the musical will take place from December 7-16.

Sordid Lives will open up HCP's 2013 part of the season, featuring a Texas tussle among family members who don't exactly know how to avoid an embarrasing funeral after Peggy is found dead in a motel room she probably should not have been in.  Sordid Lives runs February 8-17.

Twelve Angry Jurors will serve in HCP in April.  What seems like an easy to determine murder case may not be as the twelve jurors deliberate and showcase their own character in the process.  Twelve Angry Jurors can be seen from April 5-14.

Finally, HCP will spend late spring 2013 in the South Pacific.  The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical features two love stories during World War II that could be derailed by similar fears and prejudices.  South Pacific sets sail from June 7-16, 2013.

More information on any of the shows can be found at the Hardin County Playhouse website.
