    Bit to Do

    Apocalypse

You’ve survived Y2K. You’ve made it past two raptures in 2011, and now it’s the end of the world. For real this time. As I’m sure you are well aware even if you live under several rocks, the Mayan calendar, depending on whom you ask, ends with tonight as its last date, which obviously means the end of existence. And as we all know, that’s just another excuse to party. If you’re looking to dance or celebrate with some music as your potential (but unlikely) last act on Earth, here are just a few local apocalypse happenings…all of which are named “End of the World Party”.

Apocalypse Brew Works (1612 Mellwood Ave)

The local microbrewery, aptly named for such an event, will host its very own “End of the World Party” tonight starting around 5, featuring beer, music, and local food trucks. Bundle up – the brewery has indoor space only for grabbing your brews. The party will happen in their parking lot in a heated tent. And if you believe all the naysayers, you can join Apocalypse’s I-told-you-so “You Survived” food drive. Donate some human or pet food to those in need.

The Connection (120 S. Floyd Street)

If you’d like to dance the world away, you can head over to The Connection and spend your last precious moments and show off your doomsday moves with DJ Mike Cruz – Laboy LeFemme. Doors open at 10 and it’s $10 to get in the door – but it’s not like you’ll need that ten dollar bill after existence ends. 21+

    Smyrna Inn (8201 Smyrna Parkway)

Local band The Johnny Doughnut Experience will ring in the end of the world tonight at the Smyrna Inn starting at 9. They claim this is the “only party officially sanctioned” to be an End of the World party, so it must be a good time. 21+

    Tin Roof (3921 Shelbyville Road)

The Tin Roof, a new Louisville bar and venue, will host its own End of the World Party with the musical stylings of Ocean Street. The event starts around 10 and costs a measly $5. 21+

So go out and party until you no longer exist. Or, you know, until you wake up tomorrow morning.
