Locally based independent record label, Gubbey Records, picked up what New Bravado was laying down. The label has just pressed the local band’s debut album, “Sun & Moon” on both vinyl and CD. Since their EP, “Unconscious Afternoon”, was released in 2013 the guys have been busy maturing their psych rock sound. Now they’re ready to unveil their fresh take on sex, drugs, and Rock ‘n’ Roll.

According to Gubbey Records’ spokesperson Dave Rucinski, “Sun and Moon is a full-blown, dripping, fuzzed portrait of modern love in a world where the concept of family is but a vague downtrodden piece of anti-nostalgia. Sun and Moon is an intoxicating cathartic scream of human struggle to hold together relationships, life and growing up juggling archaic archetypes and outdated values in a new homogenized cultureless society. On drugs. The songs on this album bridge a throwback psychedelic gap between romantic ideals and reality playing one into the next from start to finish like the classic LP’s of yore.”

A new record isn’t all they’ve been up to. New Bravado also released a video for “I Don’t Mind”. A vivid, over exposed sci-fi short that includes rescuing bandmate, Seth Thomas, from being consumed by a wily heap of cassette and VHS tape.

The official release event is set for October 2 at Zanzabar. Copies of “Sun & Moon” will be available to fans on vinyl or CD for only $10.00. Opening the show will be other local bands The Might Auroch, Time Lard, and Lexington band, Sun Street. Get tickets here!
