The latest program in Bernheim's popular Smart Gardens and Landscapes series is tomorrow! Bernheim is asking folks to register before 4pm today for the hands-on workshop, but I'd ring them up at 502 955 8512 in the event of missing the deadline. I found they can be lenient.

The program this month is called No-Lawn Landscape. Permanently park that clunky mower in the garage! Who needs that grass? What's it do for you? Bernheim horticulture staff will cover how to cut your lawn down to size, or eliminate it all together. They'll share creative ways to turn a little yard into a rewarding place rather than a sorry patch of grass. Cost, time, and environmental benefits will be discussed as well as plant material and methods.

The program takes place tomorrow (Saturday), June 18th from 10am to 12pm. Meet at the Research Center at Bernheim Arboretum & Research Forest. The program fee is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
