Got a case of the Mondays?  Well hopefully you bought one of 16,000 ‘tickets’ for tonight’s sold out show at Waterfront Park.  In support of their upcoming sophomore LP, Babel, Mumford & Sons are certain to thrill with their English folk/rock gems of past, present and future.

The previously released single, ‘Ghosts That We Knew’, is a stunningly beautiful song that is certainly true to ‘Mumford form’.  Like many of Mumford’s tracks, it builds with majestic ascending form and closes with a simplistic, yet positive, vibe that will leave us all wanting for more.  If it is any indication of the rest of the songs on the new album than we can certainly expect for Billboard Awards and Grammy Nominations.

If you haven’t heard Dawes they are an ideal complement as an opener.  While I thought the first album, North Hills, was a bit better than the latest, Nothing is Wrong, it’s hard to top a melodic masterpiece like ‘When My Time Comes’.

Now, I’m not sure if anyone has experience a ‘ticketless’ show before but essentially it works like this.  Whoever bought the tickets has to show the card used for purchase and a government-issued ID that matches the name on the card.  All people that expect to get in with a friend who purchased the tickets must be present at the same time to gain entry.  Unfortunately if someone bails out of your posse, then you eat the cost BUT if you don’t have a ticket this exact scenario could present a situation where a crafty individual could persuade said original buyer to saddle up.  I’m not advising this, as I’m sure security will prevent such loitering by the entrance, but given some weather uncertainties it may be possible to get rid of your case of the Mondays and ensure that everyone sees your ‘OH!’ face if you currently lack a ticket.  Either way, I’ll need those TPS Reports by the end of the day as gates open at 6:30.
