    Bit to Do

More national media attention for Whiskey Row

Louisville’s Whiskey Row and Urban Bourbon Trail have once again received national media attention.  Page 28 of this month’s National Geographic Traveler (now available on newsstands) features a picture of Down One Bourbon Bar’s photo-op-tastic front window along with a story about the resurgence of bourbon culture in Louisville.  Also quoted in this article is an often-referenced fact about Kentucky: there are more barrels of bourbon in Kentucky than there are people.

The Urban Bourbon trail has grown to include the Evan Williams Experience and more than two dozen bourbon bars and restaurants, each of which include a minimum of 50 different bourbons.  Each place has its own unique culture-everything from The Silver Dollar’s classic country music atmosphere to Bourbons Bistro’s upscale dining experience.

There are two ways to get a passport for the Urban Bourbon Trail- either download the app on your smartphone or pick up a paper passport at the Visitor’s Center at 4th and Jefferson.  You only need to get six stamps in your passport to claim your prize, making this an ideal way to introduce out-of-town guests to Louisville’s bourbon culture.
