    Bit to Do

Christmas is closing in; shopping lists are slowly being checked and crossed and folded away.  That great Holiday finish line is waving merrily on the horizon.  Have you found the time yet to don your gay apparel and be merry and bright?  While we quiver with the impending bacchanal of eggnog, bows and screams of delight, the smaller and simpler Holiday dealings can boost the seasonal spirit sometimes far better than that great sugar rush of Christmas morning.  As you prepare the last trimmings and coast through the final days of work, stop by the Library for a little Holiday pick-me-up.

As part of the ongoing Mayor’s Book Club group hosted on the third Wednesday of everything month, interested lovers of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol can visit the Main branch of the Library tomorrow for a festive discussion on this timeless seasonal favorite.  Promising to shed new perspectives on our dear Ebeneezor Scrooge, the club will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, December 21st, at noon to revisit the themes and characters of the Dickens’ classic.  As always, new members and first-timers are encouraged to come and exercise their literary chops – the best kind of lunch break – and brown-bag lunches are welcome.

The clock is ticking – just four days until the Most-Wonderful-Time-of-the-Year – wind down your Holiday season, and your work week, with a seasonal comfort from the Library.  A little nostalgia paired with some lively discussion will be sure to put some insight in your mind and some merriment in your business lunch.  No gifts required; festive hat optional.

    About Erin Day

I'm a Louisville native who transplanted home from Las Vegas recently. Don't ask. In my spare time I read a lot of books and drink gin. My soulmate is my 1994 turquoise Ford Ranger - they never made a finer truck. I still totally believe in the Loch Ness Monster. I just want to write for you.
