Maroon 5, a band who Louisville saw last at the Kentucky State Fair three years ago, will be playing a much bigger venue when they come to town next March 14: the KFC Yum! Center.

Just having released their fifth studio album entitled "V," Maroon 5 is currently enjoying another round of pop success. Somehow over the past 12 years and 5 albums, Maroon 5 has been throwing us pop hits from the swooning "She Will Be Loved" to the mind numbing catchy "Moves Like Jagger" and most recent singles "Maps" and "It Was Always You" where they show a transition to more synths.

Lead singer Adam Levine is still going to make the girls scream. That's inevitable. That may be forced. But what is not forced is the tight grooves and power hooks from the new album. Bound to make everyone dance, shake, and dare I saw wave their hand in the air like they wouldn't even care, Maroon 5 packs a show with punches where if a song they play is not a hit, then the song is bound to be.

Songs from "V" feel just as much like '70s pop and disco as they feel like music right for the millennials. "Sugar" feels like it came right from Earth, Wind, & Fire. Even though with most Maroon 5 albums, songs eventually drop off and become forgettable, that's not what they are made for. They and their fans hold onto their catchiest songs for as long as they can.

Two important personnel notes for the new album include a guest spot and a return. Gwen Stefani whom Levine has grown closer to while leading team on NBC's singing show The Voice, guests on a track called "My Heart Is Open." The new album also marks the return of band member Jesse Carmichael who took the last album off.

Maroon 5's show at the KFC Yum! Center is on March 14, 2015. Opening the show is Magic!, who you will know from their reggae-pop smash "Rude," and Rozzi Crane, a young female singer who Maroon 5 guested with on a song for The Hunger Games soundtrack.

Tickets go on sale on September 11 at 10 a.m.
