Murder, ghosts, and vows for revenge...and that's just the first half of Hamlet, which will open at IUS on Thursday.
Hamlet will take place on Mar. 7-9 and 14-16 at 8 p.m. each night. Matiinees will go on Mar. 10 and 17 at 2:30 p.m. each day. All performances are to happen in the Ogle Center's Robinson Theater, located at Indiana University-Southeast, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany, IN.
Tickets for each show are $12 for adults, $6 for students, and $6 for seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door, going to the Ogle Center ticket office, or calling the office at 812-941-2525. More information on the show can be found at the IUS website.
Hamlet opens with the ghost of a past Denmark king, King Hamlet, telling his son Prince Hamlet that the king was murdered. That murderer was none other than King Hamlet's brother, Claudius, who has inherited the throne with King's murder. What follows is Prince Hamlet's investigation and revenge against Claudius as well as plenty of madness and plots on many people's lives.
