If you’ve seen them perform – whether in person or even in a Youtube video - you’re immediately struck by their strong, soothing voices and amazing harmonies. Audrey Cecil and Amanda Lucas – the two women who make up Bridge 19 – are solid songwriters, musicians, and composers. Both had solo albums and had been touring together for some time when they decided to head off to a songwriting retreat and focus on writing and arranging songs for a duo album. Their collaborative effort – called “The Fall Back” – was released in May of this year.
They describe their music as “high energy, harmony driven, alternative folk music,” but there are shades of other music genres on the new album such as pop, rock and blues.
The two have shared bills with artists like Sarah McLachlan, Brandi Carlisle, Richard Thompson, Ben Sollee, and many others, and look forward to similar opportunities in the future. Response to “The Fall Back” has been strong and has already paved the way to keep them much busier in the new year.
“Since the release of our album in May, things have been going great,” says Amanda Lucas. “We’ve been traveling quite a bit and have had the opportunity to open for several regional/national acts. We are currently in the process of booking for 2013 and hope to play local and even more out of town shows to promote “The Fall Back.”
