Twin Sister Radio, Parlour and Eremy JIrvin at The New Vintage
A few great Louisville bands! This Friday, doors at 10PM (21+)

The sulfur baths (in "Pluto water") from French Lick Resort's spa
French Lick is about an hour and fifteen minutes from Louisville, and the resort is currently decked out with Christmas decorations. Bring the kids to see santa, dad to gamble at the casino, and let mom relax in the mineral-laden healing waters.

    Louisville Bride
Photo shoots for the next issue of Louisville Bride are happening this week - and they’re so beautiful. Can’t wait for everyone to see them, hitting shelves this January!

    Hot tea from Ghyslain
They serve it to you in an adorable single-serving tea pot!

    Christmas shopping
I want to get it all out of my system before the shit storm that is consumer America invades everything that was once good. We’ll be posting a buy local gift guide soon, so watch out for that.

    The brunch buffet at Rivue
I've never eaten at the restaurant on top of the Galt House before this week, and I was just stunned by the luxe atmosphere (live piano!) and quality of the food. There was an entire table devoted to charcuterie and cheese, beautiful little cupcakes and desserts, and omelet and waffle stations. We sat in the revolving dining room and enjoyed the moving view of the Ohio River. The price tag for Rivue's Sunday brunch (Sundays from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.) is $27 per adult, but the experience is well worth it.

    The Cafe
How have I not known about this wonderfully delicious place? The Queen Anne is a delicious take on a BLC (cucumber instead of tomato), with housemade Benedictine, and it is probably the most delicious sandwich ever made. Find it at 712 Brent Street.

The gender-bended version of Gilbert and Sullivan's classic "H.M.S. Pinafore"
Currently running at Actors Theatre! The show is a hysterically fun sing-along adventure, complete with audience participation in the form of pillow fights. Get. Your. Tickets. NOW.

Rinse, Rewind, Repeat by Justin Paul Lewis and Ben Sollee
Yes, we know it’s two years old, but we’re still in love. A four-song release, this collaboration between Lewis’s soulful voice and Sollee’s amazing cello skills is perfect listening while weather turns cold (or basically any other time of the year).

Mad Max roll from Dragon King's Daughter
It's part of their happy hour!

    Butchertown Grocery
It’s opening this week and we couldn’t look forward to anything more than this. The foie gras on banana French toast is to die for. The poutine has rotisserie duck on it. The brunch is amazing, and the upstairs bar was made for boozing and schmoozing (in the best possible way). Look out for the full menu, which we’ll be posting on Louisville.com this week.

Coconut body & foot scrub by Summer Shade Soap Co.
Locally made? Who cares, it's wonderful and you can buy it from The Cafe and a number of other spots around town. [[http://summer-shade-soap-company.myshopify.com/pages/our-retailers]]

    Chef John Varenese's Turducken
It’s too cool to see, even if you can’t eat it (like our vegetarian staffer who suggested it!).
