For some of us, Valentine's Day weekend leaves us just a little bit weary, ready to spend the week snuggled up, away from the hoards of people who clogged every single restaurant in town this weekend. I can tell you, though, that you still have room to love a little bit more. Here's what we're into this week:
Tailspin Ale Fest
This weekend at Bowman Field! If you’ve been wanting to try a few more local brews, this is your chance.
KFC’s new Nashville-style hot chicken
I actually tried KFC's take on Nashville-style hot chicken and… it wasn't bad. It was actually the best fast-food chicken I've ever had. Not as delicious or authentic as Joella's or Royal's, but not half bad.
Teddy Abrams
The Louisville Orchestra music director is doing some really cool stuff right now. Can’t wait to see what he has in store for Thunder Over Louisville… And then Forecastle… Maybe we’ll even venture out to Britt Festival (for which is also music director).
House Bill 396
Whether you approve or not, you have to admit that it’s a pretty good way to get your point across.
30-Hour Party to reopen the Speed
The KY Opera, the Louisville Zoo, Actors Theatre, Governor’s School for the Arts, Louisville Ballet, Louisville Orchestra, a “Super Ensemble” consisting of Cheyenne Mize, 1200, Teddy Abrams (and more!), gallery talks, a number of other musical performances, interactive activities and SO MUCH MORE are happening at this party. Don’t miss it on March 12!
Butchertown Soda
We served it up at our Treat Yo’ Self popup, and it was a smashing success. The Mandarin Mint is particularly refreshing (especially when you add gin).
Zanzabar’s new Game Of Thrones pinball machine
Totally worth the line you might have to stand in to play.
Leftover chocolate
You can find me today at Cellar Door, Art Eatables and Ghyslain - in a search for discounted chocolate. I don’t care if they’re shaped like hearts.
