Winter auditions for the Louisville Youth Choir's 42nd season will be held on January 5, 2009 at Sacred Heart School for the Arts, Angela Hall, bldg. 17 at 3105 Lexington Rd. on the Ursuline Campus. Each year, the Louisville Youth Choir, artists in residence at Sacred Heart School for the Arts, draws over 100 youth from throughout the metropolitan area who have a passion for singing. Its musical repertoire includes many styles and cultures, including major classics and modern works, often performed with soloists and orchestras.

The 2008-2009 Louisville Youth Choir will include Primary Choir, 1st-3rd grade students (non-auditioned session, running February 10-April 26, 2009); Chorale, 4th - 9th grade students (auditioned, beginning and intermediate treble voices); Kantorei, 8th - 12th grade students (auditioned, intermediate mixed ensemble); and Les Chambre, 6th - 12th grade students (auditioned, advance treble voices). Students will perform in two concerts: a March concert featuring Bourbon Baroque and the Music of Europe's Great Composers and an April Arts-In-Action Pops concert to benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children.
There is no cost to audition and auditions are being scheduled now. Winter rehearsals begin January 6, 2009. For more information or to schedule an audition, call 896-5859 or visit the website at www.LouYouthChoir.org<http://www.LouYouthChoir.org>.
