    Bit to Do

The Louisville Triple Crown of Running (LTCOR) is the first running event in the area to offer a social media messaging system that connects with the runners friends and family; so as to let them know they have accomplished a goal of theirs. Louisville—just like Disney Marathon, Army 10 Miler, and the L.A. Marathon—has decided to hope on the band wagon and embrace technology. “Gault Race Management, long-time partner with the LTCOR, is bringing XAct Text and Social Media Messaging to the three-race series. Runner’s times will be communicated at the finish line to anyone who signs up for the service, allowing friends and family to share the excitement and cheer their runner at the end.”

XAct places the runners time and it goes to different media networks, those networks include: Facebook, twitter, text, and email. The message displays the race name, runner name, time at site, pace, and the expected finished time. Anne Gault says, “We are excited to bring this new innovation in timing to the LTCOR team in Louisville!”

The LTCOR events have helped to donate to the Crusade for Children. They increased in donations from 2010 to 2011, a whopping 20% more donations received (last years donation was $160,243). Let’s make sure we can do the same this year or even more and break last year record! “The Triple Crown series is proud to be ranked 4th of all civic organizations that donated to the 2011 Crusade.  For more information, visit www.whascrusade.org.”

The dates and names of the Triple Crown running are Anthem 5K Fitness Classic 5K on March 3, 2012; the Rodes City Run 10K on March 17, 2012; and Papa John’s 10 Miler on March 31, 2012. You can register for all three or if you just would like to run an individual event at www.louisvilletriplecrown.com. You can find additional information and answers to all your questions at this link as well.
