Tonight, Louisville supergroup, Vinylicious is set to perform Abbey Road in it's entirety. Just about every local publication has given the show it's rightful plug, but for those who haven't spent much time in the trenches of local Louisville music, here's a small description of some of the members of Vinylicious.
Greg Foresman is probably best known as the guitar virtuoso backing Martina McBride. Foresman first made his name with the Hammerheads and has since continued as a session player and solo artist. Foresman recently released his fourth solo album, Kodiak.
Aaron Montgomery is probably best know for his drumming with local blues/R&B band, V-Groove. There's a good chance you've seen V-Groove performing at the blues/jazz festivals at the Water Tower, the Garvin Gate Blues Festival and Stevie Ray's. Last year they were voted the #1 Blues Band in LEO's Reader's Choice Awards.
Mark Beyer has already made quite a name for himself in the Beatles community alone. In 2007, Beyer wrote the score for live performances of the exact reproduction of LOVE at Bomhard Theater, which included more than 30 musicians on stage at once. He also played keyboard behind the scenes for RAIN the Broadway production.
Tim Halcomb is currently the bass player for Greg Foresman's band as well as Danny Flannigan and the Rain Chorus.
Bob Ramsey has spent more then 28 years as a keyboard session musician, arranger, composer and vocalist with a long list of commercial clients.
Eric Whorton, who currently plays guitar with numerous well-known musicians throughout the community also had a 2-year run playing a reproduction of Exile on Main St. in it's entirety with the El Roostars.
As if this lineup of musicians wasn't enough, Peter Searcy, formerly of Squirrel Bait, Big Wheel, Starbilly and has recorded several solo albums, will be singing a couple songs as well as back-up vocals throughout the night with friend, Chris Hawpe (Love Jones).
Many more vocalists are scheduled to perform, but you'll have to attend to find out who.
The show is at Headliner's Music Hall. Doors open at 8 pm. Admission is $10.
